In October 2020, I obtained my master’s degree in Molecular Life Sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen. During my master internship at the department of Synthetic Organic Chemistry I got introduced to carbohydrate chemistry and the Boltje Research group, where I conducted research on the synthesis of glycosidase inhibitors that could be useful as a research tool. As a result, I became very interested in the field of carbohydrate chemistry and I decided to expand my synthetic skills with an internship at PharmaCytics B.V. Nijmegen. During this internship I worked on the design and synthesis of prodrugs based on the Nutrient Drug Conjugate technology developed by PharmaCytics B.V. The great atmosphere in the Boltje research group and the fascinating field of carbohydrate chemistry motivated me to return as a junior researcher as of December 2020.
